Program Documents and Information
Mobility management is a transportation strategy that focuses on meeting community needs through the coordinated use of a variety of transportation providers. It aims to improve transportation, particularly for veterans, older adults, people with disabilities, individuals with lower incomes, and other transit-dependent populations to find nutrition and healthy living resources, healthcare, and employment through various activities. In Oklahoma, The Oklahoma Department of Transportation, Office of Mobility and Public Transportation (ODOT) has been designated by the Governor of Oklahoma to administer the FTA-funded Section 5305, 5309, 5310, 5311, and 5339 programs.
Federal Transit Law (49 U.S. Code § 5302) defines mobility management as a capital project “consisting of short-range planning and management activities and projects for improving coordination among public transportation and other transportation service providers carried out by a recipient or subrecipient through an agreement entered into with a person, including a governmental entity, under this chapter (other than section 5309); but excluding operating public transportation services.”
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is accepting applications for future programs. Eligible entities must follow the requirements of the FTA 5310 program and the Oklahoma guidelines for mobility management programs. Contact ODOT for more information.
To apply for a local mobility management program:
The ODOT statewide mobility manager meets with host agencies monthly for regular conversations on managing the programs. This time is for us to discuss the program, share how things are going, and to answer any questions you may have. These meetings are not mandatory, but helpful for all of us so please try to attend. Contact ohook@odot.org for a meeting link.
*Host Agency meetings are held on the last Wednesday of each month at 10am
